Lens is on Fire - 03-23-2011, 12:46 PM

Critique: NC:

I was airbrushing a firefighters helmet that has pasted away do to cancer and also got the urge to paint my canon 600mm hood.

Also painted my Apple laptop and pinstriped another camera hood.

Let me know what y'all think.

Juan

Depending on the gear...striping starts at $10. I used to restored vintage bicycle and motorcycles but chrome plating just got to expensive. I was charging $3500 just to make money on a schwinn bicycle.

It's cool but might make those things hard to sell some day.

@Fireball, You may be right about selling your product in the future. I don't that is something that people have to worry about, you can always find hoods on eBay or repaint. I live in the moment and have fun with it, I had actually gotten more people interested in photography because of the painted lens. It really draws the crowd sometimes, I see people in the distance taking picture of the lens.

Neat! When I saw you at the College Classic, I was wondering where you got the hood.

I dunno if that would be a good idea? I could see it "back firing" (pun intended).
