Galveston Pier at night

Shot at F5.6; ISO 100; Shutter speed approx. 5 sec.; focal length was 70 mm.
I found out how poor my tripod was when I took this the other night while visiting Galveston Island. The wind was blowing 30-40 mph - however this is the result of my returning to time laps photography. It has been years since I attempted any shots at night. Here is my first attempt, not the best but okay. Thanks for viewing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In winds like that any tripod you can carry is going to be a bit wimpy! A trick is to hang something heavy (like your camera bag) low and between the 3 legs to stabilize it in the wind. A lot of the issue here is the humidity creating blur.
