Many thanks to the brave men and women who are working hard to keep the flames from spreading any further. My condolences to those who have already lost or are at the brink of losing their homes.

Sarah,
Thank you for the first post, getting a little close to the action?
The desserts on your site made me hungry 8-)

I don't think I was *that* close to the action.. That's what a 70-200mm and cropping is for! :P I think my mom would have a cow if she even so much as sensed that I was that close..

Tell her you need a longer lens so that you can take photos and be safe.
If she is really that Japanese then she would understand that.
Give her some Manju too, it helps.

Hahah, Manju might work :) though I'd have to sit there and explain to her what a lens is and what the purpose of the numbers are.. I think I'd rather tell her "shinpai shinaide" (don't worry) for a couple years.. overall, it takes much less time ;)

It won't work.
Telling a Japanese mother not to worry about her daughter is the same as you buying a Canon L lens for your Nikon.
It just won't happen
Post more pics.

Sarah,
Welcome to the site.
That's a heck of a set of images for your first post.

Please stay safe.
We'd love to see more from you.

Alan
