Just returned from a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. I stopped in to talk to a local photographer working at
B & C Camera store in Vegas for ideas on places to shoot, outside of the normal strip cityscapes and landscapes in the state parks located there. Rob was very helpful and friendly. He told me about
Nelson, Nevada. It is what some call a Ghost Town about 45 minutes southeast of Las Vegas with some really unique photo opportunities, in particular HDR.
I have not done much HDR so thought it might be a nice challenge for me. I had a few problems with these, some due to wind and some due to me not knowing more about HDR processing. I'm reading up on it, but meanwhile you can tell me what I did wrong. In particular, photo 1 - bright area above roof line to the left of the antenna, kink in antenna and ghosting shrub in foreground (wind I'm sure) photo 2 - Halo above mountains and top of gas pump.
So, let me know what you think. If it's correctable in processing I'll bring them back later when I've done that. I did apply the ghosting correction and other applicable options presented during processing to my raw files. This was done in Lightroom 3.4.1, Photomatix Pro 4.1, back to LR3 and then Color Efex Pro 3.0 plugin coming back into LR3 at the end.
