Leaning Tower of Britten

Another from my trip last weekend. I've been wanting to shoot this for a long time. The last time I was up here, I was unable to find it (believe it or not, it's not lit at night and is very hard to find if you don't know right where it is).

That is cool. Wonder how long it will sit like that before it falls?

Very nice. I like the way the tower is lit against the night sky.

Thanks!

Patrick, this has been this way for a very long time, so I don't think it will go anytime soon. ;-) It was actually designed as a Texan roadside oddity to attract visitors to a nearby truckstop (now gone).

That's crazy! I've never seen that before.
What did you use to light it?

Oh, and nice shot!

Thanks everyone!

Jake this was lit in-part by passing traffic and by a gridded, gelled speedlight. It was actually quite dark here and this tower used to be lit up at night, but thankfully, it now sits in the dark at night, which is part of the reason Keith and I couldn't find it on our last trip up here.

Made sure I found it this time though!

Thanks again everyone! I'm surprised more people aren't familiar with this actually, since it's right off I40 at the end of the town of Groom, TX. It's hard to miss during the day, but as I said, at night can be tough to find.

Todd,

I live in McKinney, if you are ever shooting local and want a tag along let me know. I would love to learn from a master.

Hey Steve, you bet. I shoot most every weekend and some weeknights depending on conditions. I meet up with a few others from the area on regular basis (usually about once a month or so). We'll try and put together something again soon, I'll let you know. In the meantime, if you're out and about on the weekends, let me know.

Cheers! (by the way, I am NO master!! Well, maybe a master BSer! LOL)
