I went on a business trip last week and I had one free day to relax and enjoy. Took my little x100 with me and did some snapshots around the place, Puerto Rico. I had previously shared
some images from my trip in 2010, this time I was in a more introspective mood, I think!
All images created with ambient light and just the x100 - I dont carry a tripod when I travel, so I use whatever I can find to keep the camera stready for slow shutter shots.
Because I am sharing more than three pictures I am marking the thread NC, but feel free to comment and critique the images!
1. A snapshot from the window of the jet getting me there. Loved the tiny clouds flying over the snake of a river.
2a and 2b. Just a sense of the place, the Atlantic ocean breaking against the shores, once defended by stone fortresses. This was the view from outside my hotel in San Juan.
And a night view from my room:
3. A transition to nature and simple architecture. In this case, a window in an observation tower allows us to see the rain forest outside.
4. Now old structures without nature, inside the El Morro Fortress, whose construction dates from the 16th century. I like the simplicity of these arches that communicated one chamber with another.
5. Continuing to transition from nature to human spaces, the Art Deco entrance to the Market in Ponce, south of Puerto Rico. I had to wait a while this Sunday morning for someone to walk in front of it so that I could take the photo.
6. Finally, modern human construction -a view from the eight floor of the hotel where I stayed. I liked the little honeycomb-like rooms and the guy working at the computer as the key subject.
