Mary Allen Seminary in Crockett, Texas

Last year we went to a drive-through safari (now closed) in Grapeland and on the way we passed this amazingly run-down old building in Crockett, Texas. Well, on the way home we stopped and I took a few shots, mostly to remind myself to go back there some day and do it properly. Total time spent there was 10-15 minutes. I posted one of these in the B&W challenge thread, but thought I'd post the whole set here as well.

The building was once the Mary Allen Seminary, which shut down in 1978. It amazes me how quickly it's gotten to this state of utter collapse. I'm not sure I'd want to actually enter the structure, but maybe...

Love the old places and would like to do a portrait session at one of them sometime. I think I'd just shoot outside though; I'd fear something collapsing if inside!
