Critique: CC:

Just wanted to share a few of the images I've edited that I think came out pretty nice. Took these during a 2 week trip to Thailand, these are all from the first stop - Chiang Mai.

Ganesh? Also at the resort.

Neat shots, Amy! I read your posts on FB while you were there. Do you have some shots with local people in them, too? That's something that fascinates me about other countries – how the "normal" people dress and act. :-)

For CC you'll need to reduce it to 3, or change the thread to NC.

That said, really beautiful shots! I could spend hours shooting the architecture alone!

Todd - I have shots of some of the folks in the hill tribes area, but not really of average folks. (Other than random folks in the foreground/background of a shot.)

They don't really look any different from Americans, honestly. They dress pretty much the same as we do, maybe less of the trashy-looking stuff you see here, but it's still nearly all jeans or cotton pants/shorts and t-shirts, polos and button-ups. I never saw any crazy hair or tattoos even! Thailand is very 'western' in terms of dress/style.

Keith - thanks! I've edited it down to 3. I haven't posted here much since the rules were changed, my bad.

And yes, I wished many times that I had had a lens with a larger range than what I brought (maybe the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L?) but you do what you can with what you've got! I will def shell out for a better lens next time though. Trying to swap out lenses while walking around in the heat and humidity and dirt was rough.

The first and last are my favorites. Just out of curiosity, I would be interested to see a tighter crop on pic 1 and possibly a B&W of pic 4. Of course the photo number may change if you end up removing one of the 4 shots.

sawdee khrap! I personally like #2, even though it goes a bit cold at the bottom.

I saw plenty of burmaese in western thailand when I was there 5 years ago. I rode on a songtoew for about 4 hours and it was the best baht I spent. the karen people in traditional dress and their face makeup.

nice pictures, keep them coming!
