Critique: NC:

Near & dear to my heart are the many many animals in the shelter/foster system. I can not foster as I have this problem of "if they come into my house, they don't leave!" I get too attached. So this year I have made it one of my goals to use my photography to do simple "puppy portraits" of the animals needing homes for the fosters & shelters to use on their website/petfinder, etc. A photographer in Dallas did this last year and the groups she worked with has had a 100% increase in adoption rates.
Trying to do this the simplest way possible so as not to disrupt foster homes & shelters. I am using just a small backdrop with a sb600 speedlight diffused with a LumiQuest softbox lll. Not the most technical on lighting, but it sure brings out the personality a lot better than most of the snapshots you see of the dogs up for adoption. Here are a few practice shots I did of my pups.
Anyone want to join me on my endeavor, check with your local rescues/shelters. The ones I have talked to so far have been thrilled!
