One of the parks I visit always has a few stray dogs around. One of them usually approaches me, but also stays at a distance. 10 or 12 feet seems to be his comfort distance. He seems to have had a tough life. Scars on his face and body and an ear that no longer stands up. To me he has a bunch of Character.
Just thought I would share.
