i am still figuring out Flickr, but i know they have search terms on tags and descriptions and such. and i can assign keywords in Bibble5 to add to the EXIF data, which automatically show up as tags in Flickr. and the camera model shows up automatically, but not sure about specifics like the lens. i know my raw file passes on the lens data to Bibble5. for what it's worth.
you are definitely right about the thumbnails. that's one of my gripes about Flickr is that their small square thumbnails are too small.
