SFA's University Center Ribbon Cutting - 04-23-2007, 03:21 PM

Just some pics of yesterday's ribbon cutting on the new University Center here at SFA.
the new center cost over $30 million to build, and features a student lounge and food court, a 300 seat movie theater, tons of office space and a really cool atrium.
I know there's a few of you on here that went to SFA, so i figured i'd post em up!

Dr. Patillo, the President

and for the finale, the movie theater!

Wow! My husband and I are both alumni and only thought that there were renovations being done. This looks like a whole new building! Very nice!

I thought the same thing...seems like the UC has been under construction ever since I left 10 years ago.

Holy cow! Im an SFA graduate and I worked in the UC technical services department. I must say, that is quite a change! I'm going to have to schedule a trip to Nac to see it for myself. Thanks for posting these!

Nice photos. The new UC is long overdue! Same with all the new construction there. I lived in Hall 14 and Units before I moved off campus. Units was awful. I visited last summer and snooped around a little in the new dorm that now resides on the old Units footprint. Very nice. I wish they would have started on these buildings 10 years ago until waiting till it was too late. I think SFA's enrollment has suffered as a result.

The new workout/gym/athletic center looks like it should be very nice too.

Interesting to me that the library, math/science and business buildings have not changed one bit since I was in school there. They even smell the same.

I went there for summer camp awhile back. didn't like it but good that they have a new building. Their roller hockey team needs improvement, pass it along.
