But I do agree with "what is it?" ...but it isn't a good tiled desktop. The eyes kinds start to vibrate after alittle while...

Thanks so much everyone! Looks like the experiment was a success :)

For those who asked, my husband microwaved a dual layer DVD (which is the "shattered" effect) last night and left it on the kitchen counter. When I woke up this morning, the light shining on it was creating the rainbow of colors. I grabbed my camera and macro lens, and these were the results. All I did in PS was USM.
