Exclamation PhotoPressPro 25% off till January 31st! - 01-29-2010, 07:11 AM

I ended up finding this photo blog template yesterday afternoon, and downloading it. It is AWESOME!!! And WAY cheaper than profotoblog templates. Its one general template, but three 'packages' with different options. All of the packages are on sale for 25% off until January 31st. Also, I found a tweet for an additional discount code; use the coupon 'tweetme' at checkout.

The best part about it, the company and owner who created it is based in Longview TX! If you dont have a blog and are thinking about one, support a local Texas boy!

Just curious...but why would we want to blog? I mean, I have seen Julie and Julia...sweet movie. Cute idea...made me even think it would be cool. But then I joined a blog earlier this week...and unsubscribed as fast as I could after "following" the person for just ONE of their video blogs. The whole experience left me with the whole, "WT?F" question on my mind.

Well? Why blog? Why not just create a webpage. For example, I created a bog for my school webpage. I don't even know where the blog is this minute. I thought I would try it out (like a year ago) but I never got it running. Why would I want to use it say over adding a new page to my already growing number of pages to be found at the index .

One of the reasons I have wondered if a blog is the answer to my "problem" with my daily focus but I just can't wrap my mind around how a BLOG would fix the problem of a disorganized "focus" that I keep updated every day with their daily questions, etc. because I will reuse this exact focus next year just simply changing the date and any other details that need to change. Click on "Today's Focus" and you will see what I am talking about as far as what the students see each day. Would a BLOG help something like that?

Thanks for any feedback!

Your question might be better answered in the 'website talk' area. But generally, a blog is kept for daily events. Its one page with may entries, as opposed to having to create a new web page for each new event. Think of it as a rolling timeline.

Hmmm. This makes sense. I just read something on another site: "unfortunately a blog system isn't suited for easy access to timeless articles. This post will serve as a hub for all the feature articles on the site in order for you, the readers, to find them more easily."

So, basically, some guy had to create a page to reference a bunch of blogs after all.

I think I understand. It just seems odd that some places that should be webpages of links to articles are set up like a blog. I think people are over blogging...rather than creating a page.
