Groupon Deal

Ive never used them, but some of the books seem pretty nice and for 70% off, not a bad deal. If anyone has had experience with them I'd appreciate any info.

I did a deal with Living Social and sold 52 sessions for $50. I got $32.50 per session (paid upfront) and the purchasers get a Session with 2 8x10, 2 5x7 and 8 wallets. I saw this as an advertising expense since I would hope to get word of mouth advertising from the coupon purchasers. So far about 1/4 of the sessions have happened/been booked. Most people are purchasing additional prints at regular price so it's turning out to be good for me. My only hiccup is that a lot of these folks are calling for me to do their Christmas photos. I've had to limit the # of sessions I can book through this deal so that I still have room for my regular customers.

When I spoke with Groupon they wanted to keep 1/2 of the amount and they wanted me to give digital negs to the customers. I don't do that unless you meet a min. purchase. So I said no thanks to them.

I think we're asking about the photo books for sale on the site today ;) as far as quality, etc.

But your information is really helpful too! Thanks!

Today they have it as a side deal for Houston, and you can purchase it for two days and have until Feb. 2012 to use it.

If you're a tog who's going to offer this book to your customers then you may have to think twice because your customers may find out about it and might feel screwed.

But on the other hand if you're ordering for personal use as long as they can keep up with the demand it should be a good deal. And like all GroupOn and Living Social ads, if the seller knows his capacity he should be able to deliver promptly but sadly most shops get excited from the action that they overbook and end up delivering subpar products.

It's personal use for me (for my sister's engagment book). Want a decent product not expecting the best, but don't want it to be cheap print quality either.

Anyone have any experience with them?
