Canon G12 @ Amazon - 11-14-2010, 03:00 PM

Amazon has lowered their price on the Canon G12 to $456.05 today. I picked up the same camera from Newegg 2 days prior using a coupon. Seems like this may be a holiday shopping trend and a good time to pick one up if you are in the market for one.

I'm trying to convince my wife that she needs one.
Unfortunately I made a mistake and got her an IPhone so she now can't understand why, if she has a camera on her phone why she needs to carry another one.
I told her about the quality and she answers, "these photos look just fine".

Please, someone come to my aid....

I picked one up for my birthday as an alternative to bringing out the big DSLR. There are times I would like to have a camera with me but not be so obvious about it. I like that it still shoots RAW and I can have control like a DSLR.

Are you sure you do not need one?

That is because the iPhone (assuming you are talking about the 4), is simply one of the most amazing products on the market. It is the ONLY camera that I know of that has built in HDR capture. Give it time...we will see it on all the cameras...if it isn't already showing up.

I bought a iTouch 4 KNOWING that the camera wasn't as high of res but hoping that it had the other cool technologies, but it was lame...so back the Touch went. Apple could have cornered the market with the iTouch or an iPad with a 5 or 8mp camera.

Ironically, I am in the market for a new, SMALL P&S...despite having 6 DSLRs of different sizes (and functions including a D70ir)...to go in my iPad bag. I am torn between FORM and FUNCTION.

If I could only have an iPad with a camera!!!

^you have to wait for second gen ipad for a camera.

Remember, release in small batches, increase profit.
