Newegg is running a sale on this thing. You should get you one if you have a lot of batteries. It also comes with a free AA battery case and a carrying bag for the batteries + charger. It also ships free. I got one. Viet posted a while ago this same sale. Now it's live again.

Yah I have a bunch of the Maha and this one. Both good, very cheap at this price, get one if you need to charge lots of AAs fast without ruining them.

I have one too. Great charger. I have used it to recondition some AA batteries that other chargers would not charge and brought them back to life.

I have had two versions

Maha Powerex 2700 mAh for constant use and Sanyo Enloop for batteries that sit for long periods without use.

The Maha battery will lose charge over time when sitting unused (need to recharge every month if not used)

The Sanyo Enloops (2000 mAh) are low discharge and will lose only a minimal amount of charge over a years time.

The trade off is that the Maha have a higher power rating (2700 mAh vs 2000 mAh) but need more TLC but the Enloops are a good battery to keep in your bag for the .....OOPS... I totally forgot to charge my battery moments.

Same here, but I am starting to use the eneloop more for just everything.

I use standard 2900 mAh for weddings...really good ones from B&H that can last an entire wedding. Amazing...but they have to come off the charger that day...useless after a week.

But with the exception of when I am doing a very long event, I am keeping eneloops in the flashes all the rest of the time so they are ready to a go for anything.when I have a wedding, I will take the eneloops out and put the standard NIMH in.

Enelops are the ONLY battery that will run the Pentax k100d or Canon A85 that I have over 40. Regular Nimh don't work no matter how fresh the charge is. I have about three sets of Enelops for each classroom camera and have only had 1-2 fail ever.

And I am using Eneloops in as many other things as possible...flashlights, alarms, remotes, etc. They really work well.

I have also tried some generic LSDs and they do NOT work as well, including Kodak and several other brands.

Interesting find...

There are 2 versions of the Eneloop out there right now.
The latests is the Gen2 - product # HR-3UTGA
16pk of the Gen2 - 36.97 @ Thomas Dist.
*NEWEST VERSION*16 Pack Sanyo Eneloop 2000 mAh Low Discharge..

I also hadnt heard about this, but just found it on the Sanyo Eneloop site.. They have a new 2500mah Eneloop battery out there now called the XX.
SANYO eneloop | Ready to use Rechargeable Battery - The only battery you will ever need The product code for the XX one is HR-3UWX and are only found EUR. Per a couple of battery forums, the XX are higher discharge, but lower total cycle counts (500 vs 1000/1500)
