Francie, very interesting. I called them and they told me that they use their postal service, then their postal service turns it over to our USPS. They also told me that the buyer is responsible for Duty and Brokerage.
I'm wondering, on high ticket items are there any US taxes assessed and due?

I read on another forum that all the camera stores are discounting the MII right now, leading to the inevitable speculation that a MIII is imminent. Canadian dealers seem to be discounting more. B&H and Adorama are only offering the standard Canon $100 rebate. $2,012 is a great deal.

I use my camera only for business so I do not pay sales tax on my equipment.

I was not charged duty or taxes - I ordered online and payed through paypal... I only paid for the camera 1999. and for shipping - that's it. I was a bit worried because I got no confirmation email from them - but email on monday and someone sent me an email saying it was being shipped. They are not cheaper on grips and batteries so I ordered throughs through B&H.

Very stand up folks and thought I would share with the community.

The deal with USA dealers is 2499 - 100 instant rebate - so it's 2399. I got my batteries and grip plus the camera for that price...

yes they are coming out with a new 5dMIII from what I hear - also starting price - 3200 - I stay one generation back so that I can grab the deals - that's how I got my 5d's and now upgrading - then I will pick up a pre-owned 5dMII refurb from cannon because all the store models will come back and they will unload them. They are like new and come with full warentee when purchased from Canon.

I bought my D3S through Vistek in Canada, they also have the 5DMii for 1999 CDN), they shipped mine FEDEX but mine was stopped at US Customs (luck of the draw). FEDEX called me had me fill out a form that they emailed to me and my camera was released in a few hours.

According to the FEDEX broker there was no duty payable but I did need to pay FEDEX $31 for the documentation and clearance. I also purchased an international extended warranty just to make me feel better.

The warentee card in my box said for USA and CANADA - I am a member of canon professional services so I figure I am good to go with service from canon if any issues crop up.

Most of the guys on POTN havn't had to pay duty taxes. Looking like a good deal!

Unless it's something to do with the NAFTA agreement between Canada and the USA, this may be an oversight by Big Brother. I wouldn't put it pass them to bill the buyers for taxes due if they catch it.

I think the seller is listing item value really low according to the guys on POTN. I'm still can't decide if I'm going to have a family member order one for me in Canada. I just bought my 7D this yr and just last week ordered a couple of AR15s and another AK74
