Gaffer Tape - 11-06-2011, 04:34 PM

I found a website that has great prices on gaffer tape and the shipping is reasonable.

Gaffers Tape - Goodbuyguys.com

I bought 2 rolls of Pro Gaffer for $14.29 a roll (2" x 55YDS) and $9.17 for shipping.

They were delivered on Friday. Looks and feels like the same stuff. I would not hesitate to wrap my gear in it.

I know gaffers tape is light tight, but other than that - what are the benefits? I've heard that it doesn't leave any residue, is that true?

No residue and essentially reusable. I keep some pieces stuck to my bodies and lenses that I'll peel off and reuse when I need them. Its like God himself made a perfect tape and gifted it unto man.

Also you can easily tear it with your hands and it will tear in a straight line.
