The VuPoint FS-C1-VP 35mm film/slide scanner is at the Bay Area Blvd Target for a clearance price of $25, regularly $100. Online prices are around the $90-$100 range, and completed auctions on ebay are around $50-$60, so this is a good deal price-wise.
Reviews online seem a little mixed, but most complaints are about the drivers or software. If you're a little computer savvy, it seems like it works okay.
I haven't used this yet, as we bought it as a gift for my father-in-law, who has lots of slides. I never shot slides and my 35mm negatives aren't really worth scanning, I don't think (who knows, maybe I'll get one and play with it).
Anyhoo...for $25, I figure it's worth a shot. Not sure if the other Targets have the same deal. BTW, this wasn't really on an end cap, like most Target clearance items. It was in the digital camera and accessories area, along with everything else. |
