Creeks?

This is a discussion on Creeks? within the Houston Area Photo Locales forums, part of the Houston category; I doubt Houston has such a place...but I'm looking for some place with creeks & streams. Possibly (i doubt) mini-waterfalls?? ...

Anything sort of like that, close to Houston?
I need to move to somewhere more scenic

Best local natural creek setting I've used is Cypress Creek in the south section of Meyer Park (Klein area).

Best local "man-made" setting I've used is Oyster Creek Park (Sugarland).

Best I've ever used is Chalk Ridge Falls Park near Killeen, about 200 miles away.

It all depends on water level. Pedernales Falls State Park is worth a look. If the water level isn't good, there are other features worth investigating.

I'll second Oyster Creek Park.

There's also a tiny creek at Cedar Creek (bar) in the Heights.

With Houston being so flat, scenic falls are a problem.
Scenic creeks are no problem though - just substitute "Bayou" for creek and you can find alot - in a portrait it is hard to tell the difference.
Buffalo Bayou between Memorial and Allen Parkway is one choice.

In Cypress there is a neighborhood - Rock Creek - off of Grant Rd....they have large boulders with a small pond and stream, bridge, etc.
