What's near Copperfield? - 04-05-2010, 09:53 PM

I'm new to the Katy area and have a client in Copperfield, Texas. Can anybody recommend a place for family pictures around this area? She doesn't really care what kind of background she has, just something pretty traditional I'm assuming. An open field of some kind? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

What's near Copperfield? Me.

There is an "ok" park at Longenbaugh and Queenston, right in the middle of Copperfield. 290 and Barker Cypress may have some opps. Could also drive up 290 towards the outlet mall. Honestly, I would try to shoot somewhere more interesting than the Copperfield area, unless the shoot is just-for-fun.

I don't mind traveling somewhere else, if I could find somebody that is somewhat in that or the Katy area with some bluebonnets or something nice. Suggestions?

I am located in copperfield too but if you drive to downtown tomball there are some neat buildings and such out there! There are some old buildings right by the railroad depot that picture very nicely. Also on 2920 and Cypress N. Houston there is an abandoned building right on the side and is very neat and behind it is a huge open field. Check it out but not sure if you would be trespassing.... :/

Copperfield Resident here... it unfortunately is very dudsy for photo opp places. The Cy-Fair College has some really different landscaping/architecture though, and the sun hit's really nice at near dusk since it's all west side. Good Luck!

The park with the old buildings from Cypress, behind Target & Lowe's on the old Hempstead Highway. Search here for a lot of photos from that place. The entrance to Fairfield at Mason Road exit on 290 has nice cypress trees, ponds, etc.

good to see other shooters in the copperfield area =)

there's also Culen park Sarms Road + Barker Cypress, there's tons of soccer fields, the Velodrome, and opposite that is some open park areas with more fields as well as covered pavilions... there's also 2 sides to bear creek park: there's the regular everyday park side, as well as the side on war memorial drive that has a cool wildlife habitat, as well as a soccer field, and a baseball field. on the other reg park side (van sant ln) there's nature trails, but i've never been on them. you can find the site here: Harris County - Precinct Three Commissioner Steve Radack - Bear Creek Pioneers Park

hope that helps!
