Good photo locations for portraits, The Woodlands - 07-05-2010, 01:43 PM

For good portrait places, try The Woodlands..

"Waterway Square", (lots of fountains, trees, places to sit, and the waterway) near Waterway Ave and Lake Robbins Dr.

There is also walking tunnel near Goose's Acre on the waterway,

Kayak rental center on Riva Row, near waterway, etc.,

North Shore Park, on Lake Woodlands Dr, with ducks and geese.

No one will hassle you up there either! I keep hearing stories of athorities bothering photogs downtown with permit jibberish..

Give Anadarko a wide berth and it's all good.

Ive been hassled once while I was in the woodlands over at the parking garage next to boarders.

But given, we were playing in the parking garage at like 11pm so it was justified.

They didnt ask me to leave, just wanted to know what we were doing.

He asked me if I had permission, I told him I worked for the woodlands, inc. engineering dept. (which was true at the time) and he left me alone.

I had a great shoot yesterday with my Meetup group at Waterway Square. No problems at all and a free lot nearby.

I've shot around the Kayak rental area at Riva Row. Also it would be a good shoot to head out on a Kayak around the Lake Woodlands before it gets to hot!
They say there are Bald Eagles out there.

Not exactly true. You can practically lean against the building and shoot away. As long as your camera is pointing away from the building. Been there. Done that.
