My sister lives in Katy, so I get out that way some, but I'm not all that acquainted with the Katy area outside of their particular neighborhood. But here are a couple of ideas anyway. At the Pin Oak exit from the Katy Fwy (I-10), if you head north, you'll come to "Old-Town" Katy. When you get to the train tracks and the grain silos, real close to there is a caboose that's been put on display with its own little pocket park. It's a photogenic area if you like using the caboose as a backdrop.

You can also get to the Katy Mills Mall from the Pin Oak exit and the next one east. The Katy Mills Mall is very big, and you might find a number of interesting photo backdrops there. Those are the only two places I can think of offhand.

It's been a few years, but I've done several model shoots in at and around the caboose park.

Katy has a ton of areas - lots of parks....lots of retail areas... the K-T train is always a fav..

The Katy Heritage Society has set up a very pretty little area with some historic homes, the old Katy post office, and an old bandstand in Katy Heritage Park on George Bush Drive.

There's also Mary Jo Peckham Park, with a koi pond, a lake, a nice gazebo and more. That's on Gardenia Lane.

Driving around Old Katy there are some old buildings and such, and of course the caboose that has already been mentioned.

Oh, and there's my house, if you need seven cute little models, LOL. ;)

There is a nice park behind the vfw hall off george bush and ave d. there is the outdoor center behind katy highschool. also there are usually bluebonnets that bloom in spring out that way. They make for nice scenery.
