Location for car photoshoot - 09-03-2011, 04:40 PM

Industrial, mixed use, or something you don't see everyday.

Actually going to city centre to shoot a few ladies with the Twin Turbo 350Z. Not sure how security is going to feel about it. Anyone know any other locations that are "race-car friendly" driveways with a unique view?

The car is not really super low, but my resonators tend to scrape on any and every speed bump or quick elevation changes (like construction areas).

Thanks!

Not sure what kind of view you're aiming for, but I would investigate the top levels of some of the garages at the med center. Depending on car positioning and angles, you should have some awesome views.

At City Centre, I'm going to shoot in the contained streets of the mall to get some Urban shots.

I would love to get some shots on top of garage parking lot with the skyline in the background. Checked 2 today in the SW area...no good views of the Galleria area at any of the City Center garages. Grand Marque had the upper decks of their garage locked up.

Medical center sounds promising. Just need to scope out the places in the X3 before I drive the Z there. Roads and driveways maybe impassable for the Z.

The industrial areas are fun to shoot in, just have to be careful. There are also lots of old warehouse areas in Galveston, lots of old industry stuff. There is also the old falstaff brewery thats been shut down since the 70s.
I have been wanting to drive around the airport (hobby) as well to see if I could get a cool view for a car shoot. Thats also a little unsafe haha.

Airport is a great idea. I might have to steal that. Lol. I have a private airport just down the street from me.

I've been trying to think of a good location as well. I was going to try going to the top of a parking garage in Sugar Land Town Center. Once I get my new rims I want to go do a shoot. I will post how it turns out, but probably won't get my rims until the end of the month.

Hi mate I found a nice place down on I 45 just across UH (that area is loaded with warehouses) if you prefer rail tracks/ warehouse building (which I was looking for the "drift" kind of feel to my photos for my stock nissan Z) plug this in your google maps: 1911-1913 Kolfahl St HTX 77204

The ware house is abandoned and you may use the parking lot in front of it, it also has a deprecated rail road track I found this location looking for a ware house type place, and I have always wanted to take shots close to a railroad. Also if you are looking for just ware houses I suggest driving around the same area, and taking a left on schlumberger St from northbound I 45 feeder. It does have some warehouses that are owned by the university that none uses.

I got some demo shots for ya:

Here is a neat facebook cover image I did with one of the Z images:

and just a pic on the railroad

Here are some of my shots taken:
