if so, can you please recommend a good spot for family photos? i have a shoot there tomorrow and have never been! i am about to look through old posts here too and see if i can come up with anything. thanks :)

oui...it's a trail along the bayou, there are a number of areas you can take photos in, there are gazebos at the memorial drive entrance, there are slight inclines further east which would require some walking. Near the gazebo area, if you walk further down, and cross over the walking bridge, there is a field which you could prob take advantage for some playful shots.

thanks! i found an old post that mentioned the parking lot on memorial, just west of eldridge. is that near the restrooms and water fountain? i wasn't sure where i should park to get around this area.

check out maps.google.com, this will help a lot in the layout. The lot with the gazebo is just west of eldridge on memorial dr.

Put these into the search in maps.google.com, it'll take you there: 29.7808,-95.624384

if you get a chance, get there early and scope it out. again the park runs along the bayou, so there are multiple places to shoot, some areas require some walking, some you can drive into the neighborhood and park at a dead end and walk into a field. So yeah, there are a number of places.
