As the chief photographer at UH for 16 years, I know ALL the good locations on campus...and at UH Clear Lake, too. And, having photographed in all of them, I'd have to say that UH is a visually rich environment. The juxtaposition of old fossiliferous limestone buildings with new gleaming steel and glass ones creates a dynamic that's photographically interesting and attractive.
I don't know how many times I've heard from people who've visited the campus for the first time say how attractive UH is, especially as an urban university.

I hadn't personally been to UH main campus ever until last year, and I was pleasantly surprised at it. I had no idea it was such a nice campus. I found it fairly attractive.

I graduated from UHCL... what are some good photo locations there? The buildings have changed substantially since I graduated in 1999.

On the other hand - UHCL is building a new "studio" for photo work.

3 Normal ML400's, 1 strip box, soft box, brella box... a few superclamps and a Sekonic meter.

It's still in progress.

Oh and a few backgrounds.

people always seem to say that the UH campus isnt all the great, but once you take the time to walk around campus, you can find some great shots.

A shoot I did @ UHCL last year:

http://www.richardsfault.com/2007/05.06-UHCL/index.html

At that time I was just beginning to use off-camera flash - SB-600 with Gary Fong light sphere controlled by wireless TTL from the D80, as seen in the last two rows. The remainder were on-camera flash.

The blonde model would blink without fail every time an off-camera shot was attempted due to the pre-flash from the camera.

I do some work in front of Bauer...they have some good columns and circle reflection. Go to the cougars. The metal swirl in front of the library is nice too.
