Looks nice.
How photog friendly are they? Many of these commercial developments chase off photogs to "protect the merchants trademarks/copyrights" and all kinds of other lame excuses.

I'm not sure about that...I was there early on Sunday morning and no one chased me off :) I was one of about 4 photographers out there though...so I guess it's fair game until they start running us off. They didn't have security guards out there or anything.

well over half of the spaces are still empty. I doubt any reasonable owner would mind some kind of publicity....

That is a really cool place to shoot with so many varied backgrounds. We were there recently and didn't have any problems. As Ken mentioned, there's not a lot of stores open there yet. But I've shot at similar places like Portofino Shopping Center and Market Street [The Woodlands]. The property managers have been very friendly and as long as the photographer understands that it's a place of business and not their personal studio, ie: blocking walkways, chasing off customers that are there to shop because "they're in my shot",damaging/defacing property. Those are the ones that create all the new & more strict restrictions regarding photographing there.

The request of not photographing the store signs due to copyright has never sounded unreasonable to me. As photographers, many of us take steps to protect our images, logos, etc. It seems only fair that stores do the same with their logos, display designs, etc...

while we're at it, let me place a plug for Fish City Grill.

Love this place.

...and let me add that property managers are reasonable people. They start chasing photographers away when photographers stop respecting the property.

If everyone is polite, doesn't cause trouble, doesn't disturb the area, doesn't trample on the shurbbery, then we all win. I've been amazed at what I see at times. Photographers climbing on furniture at hotels, trampling shrubbery, etc.

I know I'd chase them away if it was my property.

I've shot at Market Street and as a courtesy I've called the property management office and 'checked-in' at their information booth. They've appreciated the courtesy and I've never had an issue. I try to do the same whenever I'm shooting in that type of locale.

I stopped by this place today to check it out and loved it. I think it will be difficult to shoot at when it starts leasing all of its spaces out, but it's actually quite empty right now. It's definitely a nice place.

The company I work for built this place. I got the project manager to ask the people if it was OK to shoot some bridals there. She said it would not be a problem. I don't know how it will be when it fills up, but it was great a few weeks ago after dark on a weekday.
I have some shots on my flickr site. Nothing fancy, just to show the location.

Here are some of the bridals that my daughter shot.

Side note. We tried Pizza Fusion over there and the vegan veggie medley pizza is awesome.

Is this location very "busy" now (its been a half-year since the original post)?

Do you think I could shoot there (with a model) on a weekday morning around 9:30am?

Thanks!

I think the weekend mornings before noon are pretty dead...especially on Sunday. So you should have no problem shooting there at that time. I've noticed they're not very busy until the evening because of the restaurants.
