I live in the north part of town and work downtown.
I'm looking for any of those old, elaborate stones. An address of the cemetary would be good, if you have it. I've only been in town about 3 weeks, so still trying to learn my way around.

there's a massive oak tree in the back, I'm told it's the 2nd largest in Texas

Look for the Weeping Angel by scuptor Frank Teich in the Glenwood cemetary. It is one of 3 in Texas. Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 were vandalized a few years ago.

Glenwood is absolutely the best cemetery in Houston to shoot at. Magnificent sculptures, stained glass tiffany, mausoleums, huge oaks, etc.
If you try hard, you can even get some graves with the Houston skyline in the background.

I was there about a week ago with a friend, it's really diverse. It's sad some of the sculptures are damaged (broken off marble swords, etc).
my fav angel "ever" is at the cemetery next to Blinn college in Brenham (just west of Houston). She has a magnificent wingspan, just gorgeous!
I just wish Glenwood didn't close soo early~

I'm not positive, but I think Glenwood might be the one I took that shot at. It was back to back with another cemetary, a much older looking one. Well, it seemed to me to be older.

That could be Glenwood then, it is next to Washington Cemetary, which is very flat and has alot of civil war era graves.

Wherever it was, it was a beautiful place. I love the old stones, though. The cemetary we buried my grandmother in in Lubbock in January insisted on the flat ones that don't stand up. I was quite disappointed.
If my internet connection holds out, I'll post some more of what I took and maybe y'all can tell me where I was? LOL
