Lend a Helping Hand…Become a Via Colori Photography volunteer!

Via Colori® is a unique photographic event that attracts thousands of Houstonians to celebrate the act of creativity and raise awareness for children with hearing impairments. The festival, free to the public, will showcase more than 175 artists, professional and amateur, who will paint original masterpieces on the street in a pastel medium. Rich with culture and activity Via Colori is a stunning urban visual landscape. The two-day incredible fall weekend in downtown Sam Houston Park and the surrounding streets raises much needed funds for the Center for Hearing and Speech. Photography Volunteers at Via Colori are an essential part of the festival, performing a variety of tasks at our photography tent. The tent will feature opportunities to capture images of the festival, offer online sharing capabilities and/or a digital print station. (pending on contingent sponsorship) There is even an opportunity for your image to be awarded the “Festival Favorite Photo” and be seen by thousands. As a volunteer, you will receive a Via Colori T-shirt, water, and snacks, along with the knowledge you are helping deaf children in our community. Please see below for the available shifts:

Friday:
 8:00 pm – 12:00 am

Saturday:
 8:00 am – 10:00 am
(Event Set-up)
 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Sunday:
 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Please reply to this request by email or phone to let us know what shift(s) you would like to sign up for and your preference.

We hope you will have a fantastic experience and will stay before or after your shift to enjoy the gourmet food, live entertainment and amazing works of art on Allen Parkway. After scheduling your shift, you will receive an email in November regarding your assigned area, parking, logistics and more. There are a several ways you can support Via Colori even if you are unable to volunteer. Attend the festival, tell your social network, join our MySpace page, and become our friend on Facebook.
