Lone Star Motorcycle Rally

The 2008 Lone Star Rally is now the largest American Motorcyclists Association Sanctioned Event in America, and will be held in Galveston December 11-14, 2008.

Due to Hurricane Ike, the location of the event will likely move from downtown to parts of the island that are more prepared for large numbers of attendees.

The rally will emphasize efforts to raise money for Galveston’s recovery, including setting up a Rally to Rebuild fund which will feature more than 20 donation stations around the rally to allow participants to give. The producers also plan to host a telethon in the Galveston Island Convention Center on November 1st to raise money for the recovery fund. They will donate a portion of the event’s total sales to the rebuilding fund.
