Welcome to my world... - 07-01-2008, 10:02 PM

You won't believe this but it happend about 6:15 this evening.

This is a retail moment for you folks. I didn't deal with this personally and I hope the "perp" is not a member of the forum... however, here it goes.

Evidently we had someone come into the store today looking for the new Tamron 7-18mm lens that we had advertised. My salesperson was perplexed... didn't know Tamron had released a new 7-18mm lens (regardless of mount) and told the customer same. While I would admit that is a pretty sweet mount (especially if it was fixed 2.8 or so). They just don't make it.

The customer walked out in a huff and told us we were advertising the lens on our sign. I was immediately called into action... I looked at our sign software and this is what it said:

"Tamron Zoo
Shoot 7/18
HcePhoto.Com"

Like I said... welcome to my world.

I am still LMAO right now. I wish I could have been on the floor for this one.

Regards,
Mike

Someone should not be allowed to play with cameras. Or even drive.

I am going to respond and be "politically correct" on your comment...

Wow, I have nothing to say...

They are only shipping in Nikon and Canon mounts right now. However, you will need the "Rabbit" adapter and that does involve some metering situation problems at this point. I would suggest that you wait for the "Safari" version.

(Oh crap... I started this and it is now going on forever).

then there's the Penguin mount for black and white shooters......
the Giraffe mount that gets really, really long when zoomed.....
the inexpensive Flamingo mount but that pink color cast can be bothersome....

No, really... if Gary Fong can make a living out of a milk carton. I have to feel that this is gold! C'Mon, I don't see why the Giraffe, Penguin or Flamingo products can't make a fortune! All we need for production is a vacum cleaner hose and some duct tape. Work with me on this...

no, no, no. We just need to paint different colored stripes on the variations and change the box.
