I was at HCE yesterday and found a tripod I liked. I didn't snag it then since I was already getting a new bag, so I wrote down the part number. The problem is, I either wrote it down wrong or the thing doesn't exist accoring to the internet! I am guessing the first.
What I wrote: Gitzo Al 9240 Pro
It was Aluminum, and from looking at the photos on the net it may have actually been a Giottos, but I am not sure. It had 4 segment legs with lever locks (not twist locks), no head, and the center column was locked with a wingnut style collar nut. The price was either $104.99 or $109.99.
Now, there is a Giottos 9240, but it only opens to like 24" and this was a full size tripod. I also couldn't find any current Giottos with level lock style legs.
So....if anyone from HCE is on, or if any other members plan on stopping by, PLEASE see if you can find the tripod I am describing. It was hanging with the other tripods on the wall of the shop. I think it may have been on the right rack, but the left side of it.
Thanks!
