Lonestar S2000 Photoshoot - 10-17-2005, 09:57 AM

Hi Gang,

I shot the Lonestar Honda S2000 club get-together this weekend:

There were 11 cars - making for a pretty challenging shoot, not to mention it was BRIGHT out f16 @ 1/350th Not to mention that I forgot to bring my lens hood...

Here are a few of my favorites:

Red, white, and blue:

Yours truly (thanks to a TPF member for the idea):

Cheers
James

RE your comment on the H-I board (I don't post over there): It's not about the copyright, IMO, it's about the branding for the new club (Lonestar S2k). The more people that copy them and post them around on the net, the better, IMO.

RE copyrighting photos - it's easy. Just send a CD with up to 3,000 thumbnails and $30 to the copyright office and you have an airtight copyright for as long as the law allows.

Cheers

yeah i know about copyrights, i just see people taking mediocre photos of cars and posting them all day long over there with a 4mp kodak and slapping a huge COPYRIGHT TIM LEE 2005 across the whole bottom half. IMO it just takes away from the image. the lonestar and club logo a bit smaller in the bottom right would have been ok. the images look ok though. im really not diggin the locale too much, the colors of the background make the colors of the cars seem less interesting and more drab.

haha and when i checked the exif i was like WTF someone on HI.com has a markII??

as far as i know cary (cheesefrog) and myself are the only ones that post over there with markII's

anyways gg.

Yes, some nice dark blacktop would have been better than dead grass, but when we got to the planned location, there was a big effing RV parked in the spot we'd selected. Argh!

With a bunch of twenty-something year old guys of course there were people burning out. I didn't think it was a good idea. I found out that it WAS in fact public property where we did the photoshoot, so I'm editing this post.

I had a good look at the grass, and there was absolutely no damage done. The soil there was so dry that there were huge 1" cracks where the clay had contracted. It was as hard as tarmac and all the grass was dead. The people that spun out kicked up some dead grass leaves, but that was about it. I'll check my pix and look for damage again, but I don't think there is any damage.

Now, at the first site, I asked a large F250 lifted truck to move so we could line up more of our cars and he promptly pulled into the grass. He spun out too, right after telling me "can I just park on top of your car?"

Cheers
James

Hi Todd,

If you want to give me some photo critique - I'd appreciate it over here on TPF where I'm a member. I don't think the kids on the Houston Imports board would appreciate the discussion.

Cheers
