Shelley, have you done your shoot in OTS yet? If so, when did you go (Monday?) and how did it go? Any problems?

Wayne got me to thinking about the unusual combination of Christmas decorations, odd paint colors, etc. and perhaps I need to go there to spend the afternoon taking some pictures while my wife visits some stores... followed, of course, by a burger & beer at the Weunshe (sp?) Cafe... I went up one Sunday morning about 2 years ago and shot in B&W before anything was open, but I'd really like to give it the full color treatment and Christmas probably brings that out. Thanks.

If there's any concern, it's best to test limits in stages:

1. Test shoot alone with natural light only.

2. Shoot a modestly-dressed subject with natural light or on-camera flash only.

3. If no issues with the above, do a shoot with off-camera lighting.

Should even the most minor problem occur, allow more time before shooting again and keep the next shoot lower key.

I'm guessing that Old Town Spring is similar to the Woodlands Waterway, where the overall management is reasonable but individual tenants can be troublemakers (Most notably Ana-dork-o).

I've done several shoots there with both on and off camera lights, and have had no issues except for some of Anadarko's Sturmabteilung or Schutzstaffel at my most recent.

A photographer that turns on their own kind is the lowest of the low, and such behaviour suggests that their work is unable to hold its own.

They should be publically "outed" here and elsewhere.

If they're so intent on protecting their turf, they should fence it in and have key card access gates so their workers can stroll about.

This arrangement works well between Terry Hershey Park and their energy company neighbor.

I've been out there for 3 different sessions, with 2 of them being Christmas sessions, I've never had a problem. We even had a few shop owners come out to say hello to us while we were on their porches, and well as one giving us the ok to shoot inside his store.

Hey! Sorry - yes I did the shoot with OTS on the DOD only so far. Wanted desperatly to attend the Save the Date one but had a client call for newborn session :(

Anywho - my shoot with this family is on Sunday morning - we are going to be doing it around 9am to try and get our shots it gets too crazy out there.

We should totally have a group out there playing with cameras and just seeing what we can get and/or get away with. Boy wouldn't that put that lady's panties in a wad!

You are the cool dude that let me borrow your pocket wizards right? If so - you rawk!:) I did go get a stand and intend to get wizards in the spring so that when I attend events - I can put mine in there too and let some people drain my batteries!:)

Well I shot out there on Sunday morning - which btw - was nice and empty until about noon.
First off let me say - Cranky Photo Studio lady wasn't in her office yet so we had no issues from her.
And I will probably not shoot in old town spring again unless it's a senior who specifically asks for it.
It's just too busy and distracting there - and the colors are INSANE. Haha!:)
