Unusual Buildings in Houston - 12-11-2009, 06:26 PM

Hello everyone...I am new here & have enjoyed seeing the threads & photos put up by people. Looking forward learning from people in the Houston area. I was wondering, what buildings in Houston do people consider "unusual" as far as architecture goes? My guesses would be the following: GRB convention center, Contemporary Arts Museum, The Holocaust Museum & the beer can house. Any others suggestions?

Would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Mike

I just had a tour of the Bunker today (I used to work there and am consulting on a project there). It's very High Security now as it's a primary emergency response facility.

Other unusual building: Downtown - the building with the Mayan temple atop, the Esperson Building, and the one that looks like a brown wedding cake that has an older building preserved in it's lobby.

the Innova Design Center near Greenway & the Edwards movie theaters
I love the red gap running through this black building
the Houston Branch of the Federal Reserve on Allen Parkway is another curious structure & not all that well built ...parts of the roof have come off, perhaps after Ike
