I wanna join a club.

So i just started photographing for a week now and im loving it, but i wanna get better at it and i was thinking about joining some type of group or club. So if anybody can point me to the right direction it would be cool :)

Depends upon where you are in Houston.

On the west side there is the Houston Camera Club, Houston Photographic Society and Houston Photochrome Club.

To the north there is Northwest Houston Photo Club, 1960 PC Users Photography Sig, Woodlands Camera Club and Kingwood Photo Club.

Mostly city wide there is the Houston Photography Meetup Group, the Houston Photowalks Meetup Group, the Katy 50 and Older Photography Meetup Group and far south is the League City Photography Meetup Group. There is also a Photoshop Meetup Group and a Glamour Photography Meetup Group.

Let me know what sounds interesting and I can post a link. There are probably several more that I have missed.

If you are on the south side of town, the League City Photography Meetup Group meets in the Clear Lake area. Just google us.

There is a group on flickr called "Assignment Houston" that's really laid back. They just give little assignments to do each month. My favorite part is they post photography opportunities and have fun meetups (like at the museum after hours, etc)... It's mostly amateurs at all different levels of photography from point and shoot to pro so might check them out: Flickr: Assignment: Houston (#43 Holidays in Houston) Really flickr has a group for every type of camera or photography style so it's pretty helpful when starting out.

I met David one time at Brazos Bend State Park and the League City Club seems very friendly and laid back.
