I sure would love to attend the next one (as long as it doesn't coincide with my OTS/Binder events (or the 29th when I have a family tour with Sandy Puc).

set it up!! Get it going.

there was some banter at the end of the last GTG about doing another. i would like to do some night photos. but that is me. i think we were talking feb.

i'm booked all weekends until feb. even then i have one or two open weekends in feb. but, lets figure out what is good for the masses and get it setup.

i'll have to check the calendar at home...but between mardi gras (i'm going to see endymion roll in midcity for the first time!!), business crap and other business trips, i'm only game for feb 5-6.

i can even propose some topics. maybe one or two people show their workflow and results. then practice what you learned. but, lets hear what the masses have to say.

Give it time. I'll be in town on the 6th.

Where do you plan to watch Endymion?

haven't thought about it yet. i plan to stay with friends. wake up, take it easy, hop on bikes, ride down parade route, stake out our territory, wait for hours, watch parade.

any suggestions? it always rolled through uptown when i lived there b/c of ramifications of katrina's temper tantrum in mid-city.

well, maybe we can make it a film ocf event... with silicon sensors welcome.

We went twice. Once on Canal Blvd. at Warren Easton HS. I guess they don't do that now. The second time was unreal. The manager of the Sheraton Hotel (and member of the Krewe) threw a private party and we watched the parade from the balcony over the hotel entrance on Canal. Talk about feel like Royalty!

All are welcome!

OffT: As I recall, they get to Canal someway, then up Poydras to the Dome & a lap inside the Dome. However, post Katrina is a whole different world.

I've been a little MIA from the board, I may be in for the next round!!! Still don't think I shared what I got from the last round, whoops, my computer keeps locking up at home! Been doing some major cleaning out, so hopefully I can get them up soon. I have a new camera to test out (D700) whoo hoo!! I also have Rock the OCF book, just need to read it.

Speaking of Mardi Gras, last year plus a few before we had access to my boyfriends work suite/balcony on Bourbon! It spoils you so much, all the free booze you want, plus not having to deal with the crowds. If you're on the streeet we always watched it from St. Charles St. a little before Canal street.

so marguerite...should we put you down for the 6th?

i'm pretty well hooked up for the suites. they just started pouring into my work email. there's only so much of the royal sonesta i can take though. live in the marigny through mardi gras, and you'll get your fill of it. there was like a party out my bedroom window for weeks.

Lee circle? maybe. i can get access to swaco's stands right there. but, i would rather be up canal a little bit, a little further from the crowds. if that exists...watching on the short carrollton pitch might be fun too.

OT: will crawfish be going for our after OCF shoot gtg? or is it too early?

maybe we'll have to have a march gtg and then boil crawfish at mine afterwards. maybe we could just gtg, eat crawfish and talk shop, not worrying about actually shooting.
