Job opening - 02-04-2010, 05:46 PM

Hello Im Lonnie, I am looking for a photographer.

I travel and shoot drag racing and have some races coming up in March that are out of town. Im looking for some one to shoot and help me run the pits and sell photos at these races.

I have a truck and fifth RV trailer that I drive to the races in and live in while on the road. This will require you to be on the road for a few weeks at a time, pay is based on experince, but living expenses are payed for while you are on the road with me.

Looking for someone that dosent really have much going on, maybe someone fresh out of school or something. Looking for someone that can keep up, this is a very fast paced gig when we are working.

Its a fun job, and I travel all over the country.

If you are interested and want some more info please email me

TurboPhotos@gmail.com

Thanks!
Lonnie Gautreau

Lonnie,

Save the age thing for a personal interview. In fact, just keep it to yourself. There are laws about age discrimination.

I would jump all over this if I didn't need my full time job.

You need to change your original post. Change Jop to Job. Take out the age requirements. You are leaving yourself wide open to complaints from old geezers like me.

Yep. Me too. In about 2 years, if SWMBO will allow, I am absolutely up for it.

ahh I didnt notice that Typo, I know about the age thing, but this is a fast paced job, I have usually only have a short amount of time to get my photos out there and sold. But like Ive stated this Job is really more for someone fresh out of High School, or College, that dosent really have alot going on in their life at the moment, that wants to travel. I am home maybe about 5 weekends from now untill November.

So are you saying all old people are slow?

Or maybe they are just dumb?

They may be both.

But you have been asked to change the title and the discriminatory content.

Seems to me that you are a little slow.

Or you may not know how?

Get the point yet?

For one I am not a moderator on this site, I can edit my original post, and I did take out where I said there was an Age Requirement, but I cannot edit the tittle in the thread. Only a moderator can do that.

I am not saying Older people are slow, but most of them have a career going on and cannot be on the road for long periods of time. There is nothing wrong with me say saying what this Job is more geared to. I do not expect someone that has a career and a family to work this job.

Get my point?

I am old. But I can edit my title.

Old people know stuff. Its called experience.

Go to your original post. Click edit. Click Go Advanced. Change you title.

Realize you are wrong. Apologize to the old folk. Old people are OK.

Lonnie, if you click on edit like you were editing your thread, then click "Go Advanced" it will let you edit the title, as well...

I don't seriously think you were suggesting that old people are dumb or slow - - but I think that Wayne was suggesting that you state the requirement in terms of what a person would need to be able to do: the job requirement is that people need to think quickly, on the fly, as it were... in a very fast paced job. And that to avoid issues with people getting upset about discrimination, you just leave the requirement at that - - the edit you have made is fine.

Well Thank you, and I do Apologize. Im not trying to be discriminant, but I know what this job is like, and like I have stated most people that are older have families, Careers, other responsibilities that require them to be home. And like I have also stated I am only really home about 5 weekends out of this year. So this person would be basically living with me in a 34" trailer for most of the year, I dont know to many older people that would want to do that.

So again, I am sorry, didnt mean to step on anyones toes, any one feel free to ask about this job.
