I am not sure. I will have time Saturday to finally do something and trying to decide between the Art Car or the Air/Car show at Ellington Field.

I did the art car parade a couple years ago.
Its something that if you've never done it, you should at least once.

I'd go to the parade again just to see the turn out, but it is also photo day at the Zoo this weekend and its been a while since I've been back since all the construction around the park, so I'm taking that opportunity instead.

Well, according to the Art Car website, the parade isn't until 1pm.

The Zoo thing starts at 7am.

I'm thinking a double feature could be done if one wanted to because you wouldn't be that far from one to the other.

The real challenge will be finding a parking spot near the parade route if you wait to long to get there.

Last time I went, I was on the m/c so it was a piece of cake; we just parked up under the trees.

Duffus I meant ART CAR- I wouldn't go 250+ miles (one way) for a ZOO DAY!

Sorry, but how was I supposed to know.

Your request was ambiguous and since it followed my post I'd guessed, incorrectly, that was what you were requesting info on.

I'll try to be less of a duffus in the future.

BTW, here's a link to the Art Car info:

I will be there...A little local knowledge: For the photographer, the time to go is while the cars are lining up, which starts around 9:30AM. You get to be on the street and sticking your cameras right in the cars if you want. If you go for the parade, there are three issues, as I see it:
1. It's hot...damn hot!!!
2. There are thousands of people in your way
3. You gotta shoot from the side of the road

If you are like me, you go early, and head out of there about the time the parade gets ready to start. Wear sunscreen and a hat, cause there isn't much shade. Also, bring your own fluids to drink, and bring plenty, cause there isn't much in the way of street vendors.
