Do we Network our Model's? - 06-02-2010, 03:15 PM

Ok so does TPF have a network set up for our models in the event one we see is key for a designated photo shoot? I was just thinking because I have seen some that fit into many different venues here in the local Houston Market.

I don't see why we should have to go to another site to get them when we may have enough to share the business here. Just a thought. I have two that I know, they are fitness buffs that enjoy photo spreads.

Keith.

Just a thought. We all work kinda hard to find good ones and I have yet to get information (simply because I have not tried hard) about another model already used. It is a nice concept to be collective and simply use this as a chance to organize both Photographers for models and Models for Photographers. :)

Dont most just use MM? I think what you are suggesting is a good idea, but a lot of work for someone.

Not a ton of work, potentially just a single new category on TPF. I like the idea. I stopped using MM - I was getting 4 flakes for every 1 model that worked out.

This Thread is the start of the drive. I agree that the TPF can become a resourse for both us as photographers needing models. Yes it will take work but why go outside of here to do it. I understand that not everyone uses models or has connections but I vote we network through here to collectively become a stronger resource. Again just something I feel should work to our advantage.

Oh, I dont disagree one bit. I tried to get a MM account setup but didnt have the required model shots to do it. All I have is parents and kids or just kids. I have one friend whos wife is willing to sit for me, I just havent put it together yet. Having local models that WANT to work for whatever type of compensation wold be great.

Keith, since you seem to be spearheading this, why dont you send Abel a PM and see what he would do once we have a few models profiles to post up.

Often times a "model" is just a person who enjoys having their picture taken, just like many of us enjoy taking pictures.

I would think that a simple list of names of people who would be willing to model (and perhaps one or two pics linked in the post) would be sufficient.

Looks like I need to make a new thread then. One with a proper subject line. Or can this one be changed?

Problem is this thread is just gonna fall by the wayside. Thats why I was thinking talk to Abel and see how he feels about making it a sticky or creating a sub forum for it, something along those lines.

And how would I as a photog go about getting in touch with someone from this list to see if they wanted to work with me?

If we improve on the list or layout we can have links of some kind. this is not an attempt to gain profit so with approval from the models we can list info or use the reference like I posted as being an associate then go through them. ???
