Tried to contact for media pass and they said I won't attract anyone to come. I don't get it.

No date, no venue; is this a feeler for photographers?

Not sure who or how the Houstonfig group is involved - from what I'm reading, they're putting on their own event, essentially tagging onto the Audi event. I am working directly with the founders and sponsors of the Audi Houston Fashion Week event, including the committee members producing the show. This has been in the planning stages for nearly 10 months now. Audi is the sponsor and Jared Lang of Momentum Audi is the chair of the event.

A press conference was held at the Wortham Center on June 30 to announce the dates and participants in the event. The entire event is to be held inside the Wortham Theater from October 11 to October 15. Lynn Wyatt will be providing 10 of her custom couture gowns to be displayed during the event. My blog post about the press conference, the list of attendees and the dates can be seen here - Fashion Houston 2010 STP Images Photography Blog

Don't let anyone tell you that they have the inside scoop on this - it's not out of the oven yet. Also, the houstonfig website has reasons to be cautious if clicking on links according to this Houston Examiner article (see first paragraph) - What is the truth behind Houston?s first fashion week

More info to follow soon about Audi Houston Fashion Week.

I'm even a bit more confused since the OP seems to be the same guy co-ording it (David Ngyuen). But, I'm still standing by my previous statement. After perusing the "permit and contract" this is starting to fall on the "super sketch" side of the "how sketchy is this" radar.

"BE ADVISED: FOR ANY INDEPENDENT PHOTOGRAPHER AND VIDEOGRAPHER THAT DOESN'T BELONG TO A SPONSOR, MAGAZINE, BOARDCASTING NETWORK THAT WANTS TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS HFIG HOUSTON FASHION WEEK. NEEDS TO SIGN A CONTRACT TO INSURE ALL RIGHT OF BOTH IMAGES AND VIDEOS BELONG TO BOTH HFIG AND THE PROVIDER. ALL RIGHT AND OWNER WILL BE HANDLED BY A LEGAL CONTRACT."

"All event location and time will be emailed to you three weeks pier to the event."

Well, to whoever is in charge, get legal counsel and maybe a linguist on your team.

What good is Houston Fashion Week if all it does is bring in LA and NY people for a week and then they leave.

So what's actually going on here? Seems like a huge cluster of conflicting information and David hasn't respond to my emails (about this or other things he's posed about elsewhere); can we get this locked?

I did get a reply from David, but it was for me to sign up; not sure what it meant. All the models that went to model were kids. They said anyone could have shown and took pictures. They just walked the block on the sidewalk around Tranquility Park.

Thou many said that there were two different Houston Fashion Weeks going on by two different organizations. Now this is confusing. They have called this the first, yet every year they call it the first. You can search the Forum here to see how they TRY to have one here every year by someone different.

I know so really great designers in Houston, but they used unknown teen designers this year, many of us said it was not what we expected to see.

Strange because I'm seeing images of really expensive looking gowns and collections (like the things by Christian Siriano), but these images don't look like they're from Tranquility Park (unless that's where they put up tents, lighting and runways); either way finding out reliable information has been a futile endeavor.
