As a public service to fellow TPFers (and since I will be out of town and can't get the stuff first): there is an estate sale going on near Rice Univ this weekend (July 24th & 25th).
Info and pictures here: Upcoming Sales
I go to this lady's sales alot, and the prices are usually fair (about Ebay level), and on Sundays they knock the prices down about 30%, and after 1 PM Sunday they are about 50% (but usually almost everything good is gone by then).
The link has pics of some of the stuff available, you'll notice a whole heck of alot of photo stuff (cameras mostly).
Wish I was in town to go. (I may be back before noon on Sunday, and if so will definitely hit it).

There are usually gems to be had at her estate sales - she won't accept a crappy estate to manage.
I scored several nice TTL cameras from her in the $10-25 range, got a few odds and ends, found out of print games, props, etc. My best "score" was last weekend - found a nearly brand new pair of hearing aids (latest digi generation, under 18 months old) for $10. New they go for between $5,000 and 6,000 from a provider. Wish I could trade the for a Canon 1Ds MkII

There are a few nuggets of gold buried in that cornucopia of items, the camera stuff looks mostly early 50's late 40's but hard to tell with the pics posted. A lot of those carved Mexican statues can be worth a lot especially if they are signed by a recognized artist!
If this was Dallas I would check it out but h town is a bit too far. | | | |

Found out from a friend that the owner was eccentric and liked to be known as "Luke Skywalker."
He was definitely a hoarder.
A friend that worked on cataloging/pricing told me they have alot more stuff that they could not "fit" in the house to sell (due to over crowding), and they will probably restock it and have another sale the following weekend.
