Shooting Downtown - 08-28-2010, 06:04 PM

Hello guys.

Well, I have shot downtown ... but on the street level.

A model and I were discussing about shooting like above the street downtown.

Any suggestions? Places where I can go? on a Sunday?

I was thinking on top of one of the parking garages. Like the Allen Parkway Garage or the one above Birraporetti's ...

But I didn't really jump in there. I called the Police Station for where I was allowed to shoot, but they only said as long as it's not the metro rail.

Again, any suggestion or places would be great. Thanks.

I have used parking garages , it's not the sworn officers you need to worry about. It's the private security forces (rent-a-cop).

That being said, I have found them to be easily distracted and willing to 'bend' their rules if you are polite and have a pretty model.

We went to the Hobby Center to watch a show with our 2 year old 2 weekends ago. Driving around the parking garage trying to find a spot, I managed to get to the roof level and it looked like a cool skyline backdrop.

Don't know about the rules on shooting there, though.

Thanks guys. I actually did some location scouting yesterday ... before another shoot. For some locations downtown. Thanks.

We actually were able to talk to some patio places and owners and got some approvals. YAY!!!

Lol ... at your photo Ray. That officer must have had fun.
