Texas Ren Fest 2010 - 09-14-2010, 09:57 AM

I haven't been in 10 or so years, and I'm very very excited to be going this year... so excited I'm posting this now instead of waiting for October 1st.

Any one else plan on going or excited as I am about it?

I go every year to take portraits of the patrons. I will be there, no doubt about it. I usually try to go at least twice.

I found out last year (which made me more upset) that I live within twenty minutes of where they hold it every year... Which, means, at least I won't have to get a hotel room and I can get those giant turkey legs to go! ...they still have those right?

Haven't been in probably 12 years. Perhaps it's time to go again. ;)

It might be quicker to walk..........traffic between Magnolia & the grounds can get a little congested.

Like Mardi Gras........everybody should do it once. Once is usually enough.

I wouldnt compare it at all to Mardi Gras...but then again im a total Nerd. But I go purely for the photo op. Not the food, not anything else, purely to take pictures.

I like it as an experience, but I've only been once, I'm sure once you've gone a few times, it all gets pretty dull.

au contraire. i have been to exactly two ren fests in my short life, in two different states. nothing varies much state to state. mardi gras on the other hand, i have only been to in new orleans. i understand the experience in rio is much, much different and would like the opportunity to experience it.

I can't wait to go!

Same could be said for M.G. in Galveston compared to New Orleans. Two totally different events.
