Hey, I was just wondering if there were any photographers in the forum that currently attend University of Houston - Main Campus; and if they wanted to hang out some time and exchange photography knowledge. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. I'm there every night. Every single one of my classes is in the L2D2 (the engineering lecture hall between the original engineering building and the rusty old building behind it).

Awesome, I'm at the campus every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 7am to about 1. Have you taken any good portraits around the campus? Its my first semester there, and I'm stuck in the Agnes Arnold Hall. I only got to see a few of the small statues and stuff near the library and was wondering if there were any places in particular that might make a nice back drop for a portrait.

I've seen plenty of non-students shooting around the campus. I've never bothered to shoot on campus myself since it's 36 miles away from where I live and I ride a motorcycle. I've always got my G9 with me, but showing up equipped for class and a real photoshoot just ain't happening.

I mostly see tiny asian girls taking pictures and throwing up peace signs in front of the statues. I haven't seen anyone take serious pictures though. Anthony, would you happen to know if there is a photography club there?

I honestly have no idea. I'd assume there's something in the art department, but I do not know if there's just a general photography club. About the only two organizations I have time to deal with are the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Veterans Collegiate Society.
The stairwell in the art building, and the front/sides of the architecture building would be good spots to shoot. I'll get around to that one day.

There are a ton of great places to take pictures on campus. Loss of grassy areas, fountains, statues. There is a great place just about everywhere you turn.

Walked around the campus today between classes, found an amazing potential shot. Leaving the satellite, go up the stairs and take a right. keep going straight, and after 5 yards on your left there is a hill that leads to a massive tree and a ledge to sit on beneath it. that would make an amazing full body shot with the tree as the back drop. will post some more potential back drops if I see any. pics coming soon.

There's a few photographers in the Vietnamese Student Association club. You can go check out there meeting.
By the way, I started a photo club at UH-D not too far away.

I transferred to UH main this past semester, and I'm just getting into photography. Did you find any others interested in photography at UH?

Ahaha, sorry Franklin. I got a bit carried away with school and work. Clearly my definition of "soon" is like 2 months time. Anyone happen to be at the campus on tuesday or thursday at around 10 am | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
