Trade for Family Portrait?

I have been DYING... errr TRYING to get one single family portrait of us for the last ohhh 4 years and now that we've had our last member I want it done. I have tried doing them myself, but between positioning everyone, setting the timer and running back, I fail. When I ask someone to take the picture with my camera, set the settings, instruct them on how to use the back button focus, I fail. I just want one damn picture where the toddler isn't squirming, the teenager isn't frowning, the husband's eyes are open and I don't have the frazzled look of disgust plastered across my sleep deprived face. And now add to that a high maintenance 4 month old, the mere thought of attempting this myself makes me want to curl into the fetal position and cry now.

So, is there anyone in the Clear Lake area that would like to shoot my family and I'll shoot yours? Ha, so wrong, but you know what I mean. PM me if interested along with samples of your work, website or portfolio and I'll send you mine.

Doesnt have to be holiday themed and can even take place AFTER Christmas. I just want one decent photo to put on my big bare wall above the couch where it yearns for some family decor.

I saw a meetup photog group in North Houston doing something like this. This might be the thing for you. There is also a meetup group in League city that could help. I'll contact the organizer and have you work with her. Her name is Trudy.

I would volunteer but we just did our family photos and it only took 10 photos to get it right. lol

But mine are all over 16 and up. lol

I grew up in the suburbs of Denver and even then it was not likely that you'd run into the same people multiple days of the week. Since being out here, it's like Houston itself is huge, but this part of town is compact. I can't explain it, it's like it's spread out but yet everyone is right here.

I told my husband about this "discovery" and though we can't make the meeting tonight I think we'll become regulars starting next month...pending babysitters.
