Photography School/Classes

Hi,
I am not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but can anyone recommend a good photography school or any classes here in houston.

I am looking at hcponline.org and llu.com.

Most of the classes are sold out at HCP and I'm not sure about Leisure Learning Unlimited, Inc

ironically i got an email from LLU this morning that had this blurb:

Unpublished Section:
Basics of Photography--A One-Day Workshop

Demand is always great for photography classes with Kathy Adams Clark. Her next section of this popular class (starting January 29) is full. A new unpublished section (U0910C-2) is on Saturday February 12th from 9:30am-3:30pm.

This is Photography BASICS so youll have to decide what to take to get the most value. If you do take any classes with LLU, go with KAC.

Val Westover and co are still coming to Houston giving basics workshops. Looks like the next one is in late Feb.

I took Intermediate Photography with KAC at LLU and it was a great experience, she took her time and explained eveything perfectly.

Also there is a member on here Mr KWA who has some workshops/classes on Thursdays, you may want to PM him for more info. He taught me all of my basics and is always a phone call away to help answer any questions.

TPF's very own Valerie teaches at HCP. If the classes are full today, sign up for the next available classes.

February classes are available. Are you sure you looked at the schedule correctly?

Basic camera workshops are often posted on TPF. An alternate to HCP would be Lone Star College if you're looking for a progressive classroom structured format. LSC-CyFair, Kingwood and North Harris campuses offers them:
Digital Photography Enhanced Skills Certificate

I was fortunate to have had opportunities to be mentored by a number of pro-photographers here on TPF. The GTGs were beneficial both socially and technically. And some things, you just have to learn on your own using various resources online, library, magazine, etc...

In case you haven't read it already, "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson is something often suggested to photographers of just about any skill level. It's one of many sources out there that breaksdown and simplifies how aperture, shutter speed and exposure affect each other.
