Yup. Saw those myself on the way to CS on Saturday. Saw a few on 290 coming back from Austin yesterday also.

I saw a few scattered ones today also coming home from work along Carpenters Bayou. Almost time to get some Velvia 50 out.

Got a whole mess of 'em in my yard this year. Was all over Washington County yesterday and to say it is going to be a bad year is a huge understatement. Here is a "baby" from my yard with a 60mm macro. No cropping...

I was real close

i'm looking for a spot between downtown and rosenberg....

have a client who wants bluebonnets, her sister is in rosenberg and she is in the heights area.

Are there spots near memorial? I'm just familiar with Woodlands/NW H-town and Hill Country.... Have never looked for them downtown before.

Thanks,
Nicole

PS saw them in the woodlands last week, they've been in my yard now for a couple weeks, as beautiful as ever!

Not really Houston, but I was driving back from west Texas this weekend via New Braunfels and the only place I saw with any reasonable patch of bluebonnets (or any wildflowers) was Hwy 80 at I-10 east of San Antonio and Sequin. Even those were fairly sparse. My usual spots around Clearlake haven't bloomed yet, and I'm not sure how full they will be.

I have to take partial blame, though. I had been planning to take a family bluebonnet portrait during our spring break trip, and had prepared the family for it over and over. So naturally, we didn't really see anything out there.

They are coming up all over Dallas. I saw them from Wylie to Ft Worth along the road/highways.

None where I am yet. I checked today in Frisco and Plano. I drove by few places and didn't get out of the car, so there may be some coming out but definitely not ready for pics yet.

I figure it I can tell the blooms from a moving car, you need to watch out! :) They will be open in no time. The blooms are opening. Some sides of the road are farther along than others. At SpringCreek and Jupiter are just starting to open, with the blue color popping.

Yep - all over the place in Houston now - 288, etc.

Hermann Park, near the Gazebo, usually has a nice patch that is easily accessible and good backgrounds to bokeh. Haven't gone this year, but worth a shot. (or twelve)

Plano, Texas: A goodly number are blooming tall in the medians on Independence just south of the Legacy intersection. The rest of the town is sure to follow.
