Houston Vantage Points - 03-26-2011, 01:51 AM

Can anyone tell me where some nice vantage points are in Houston for skyline photos (or point me to a post or place where these are already listed). I can't seem to find a list or even a single place.

Thanks for reading.

EDWARDS plaza off i-10 is a good spot. they have a really tall parking garage. you can get shots from the galleria parking garage. there are many other parking garages off westhemier too. there is some good stuff in midtown too but i dont have specific location info for those.

basically if you see a parking garage. stop and see if you can get up to the top.

Several spots along Allen Parkway and Memorial drive. In the park between those throughways. On the pedestrian bridges over them. Sabine Street Bridge is one that gets used a lot. There's the less-than-legal options on several off-ramps, but that will risk both your checkbook and your life.

The best is the Sabine Street bridge. Hard to get to but beautiful.

I did some stuff a few years ago that I still like to this day....
Over by the spaghetti warehouse, if you go over the bridge to the U of H campus and up a few levels there's somewhat of a balcony, my friends and I set up our tripods there, and I got lots of Houston cityscape pics.

Ya know, I'm always a little partial to the Bayou Place area, Tranquility park is there with its water and general coolness, and the Hobby Center is right across the street. Set out on foot from that area and you'll surely run into some cool spots.
